Every parent’s mind is consumed with the topic of school right now. In-person school, virtual school, homeschool, and all options are being weighed and considered by families all over the world. Whether you have made your decision or are still considering the possibilities, my prayer is that we would embark on this school year with all God taught us in the last season.
I don’t know about you, but God has been working in my heart. As unpredictable as the spring felt with all my kids at home, I felt God’s gentle reminder to prioritize The Great Commission in my home.
The Great Commission as stated by Jesus, is in Matthew 28:19-20a,
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
As Christian parents, one of the most important, God-given tasks is to make disciples of Jesus in our homes. Schools exist to guide and assist our children’s education. Children’s ministries exist to equip and come alongside parents, but ultimately it is our privilege and responsibility to raise our children to know Jesus.
Regardless of what education looks like for your family, may we face the start of school with a renewed sense of calling toward our first role as disciple-makers. I pray that the task of teaching our children about Jesus would be our primary job.
If the mission of Christian parenting seems daunting to you, there are some great resources out there to help! Kids Faith Krate was born out of a passion to encourage families, by giving parents a tool to help them teach their children about Jesus.
Here are a few ways Kids Faith Krate can help your family this school year:
Every month our writers create fun, Scripture-based content. We know one of the hardest things about teaching children the Bible is knowing where to start. Each month your krate will come with a new topic, and all the content, scriptures and questions that go along with it.
Our team includes educators who know kids retain information when their bodies are moving. Our crafts and activities help children hide God’s Word in their hearts in a way that engages them. We send the supplies and instructions each month for the crafts. We take care of the planning and the prep!
- Meaningful Conversations
One of the unique things about our krates is the conversation questions. Parents use the questions throughout the month to facilitate meaningful conversations about the Word of God. They help you keep talking about God all month and get the most out of your krate! When you or your child see your craft you made, it sparks reminders for continued conversations!
We want to see families grow in God together! Our goal is to be a resource that helps you lead your family toward Christ. That’s why we ship our krates once a month directly to your home. Inside you will find everything you need: engaging content, crafts, activities, and all the supplies you need.
Our mission is to help parents teach and talk to their children about Jesus. Our krates are a tool for family discipleship. Whether you decide to send your kids back to school, do virtual school, homeschool, or another other option, we want to see families first and foremost “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). If you are looking for some direction on this journey, we would love to be a tool for you this school year!'
